Mark Moosic Named General Manager of the Year by Interstate Hotels & Resorts

Operators of the Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square are pleased to announce that Mark Moosic recently was named 2011 General Manager of the Year / Full Service Division by Interstate Hotels & Resorts at its Global Leadership Conference.

Moosic, a native of Central Pennsylvania, was honored from among a talented pool of 387 general managers across the globe for his exceptional leadership in meeting key performance targets for the facility as well as fostering Interstate’s corporate values of respect, teamwork, integrity, community, performance, and innovation.

“Mark is an exceptional leader with a remarkable ability to inspire and motivate his team,” said Ted Knighton, Interstate’s chief operating officer.  “His dedication to his customers, associates, and industry is what makes him the very best of the best,” Knighton said.

Moosic began his career with Interstate 31 years ago. Prior to accepting the leadership role at the Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square in 2007 to support ramp up to its grand opening, Moosic had led numerous other properties as general manager throughout his career, including Marriott properties in Houston, Oklahoma City, Memphis, and Somerset, NJ.

Moosic supports many nonprofits locally and nationally, and serves on the boards of the Pa. Dutch Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Greater Lancaster Hotel & Motel Association.

The landmark, uniquely integrated convention center hotel facility offers abundant space for groups ranging in size from 5 to 5,000 people, with more than 90,000 square feet of flexible meeting space including a convention and exhibition hall, two grand ballrooms, and several finely appointed meeting and board rooms.  In the 299-room hotel portion of this integrated facility, guests enjoy all the amenities commanded by the Marriott name, including granite counters, 37-inch LCD high-definition screens, smart plug-and-play systems for connecting laptops to TVs, and luxurious pillow-top bedding.
